There's something very dark and mysterious brewing in Bill Quay. It's not the usual kind of activity you witness in local streets and dwellings. But it's going to cause a stir.

Anton Lauret, born and brought up in Bill Quay, Gateshead, is making a film based in and around the local pub, The Albion. Based on a piece he wrote some years ago and inspired by a real local story, the film will involve local people and will be filmed on location in The Albion Inn on Reay Street and surrounding streets of Bill Quay.

There has already been a preliminary meeting held, at The Albion Inn of course, to inform and inspire local residents to take an active part. With roles to fill in everything from leading actors to extras, from make-up to sweeping floors and making tea (or even pulling a pint!), there is much work to be done.

Anton is currently working on the screenplay version of the story and has begun to involve those he has identified as having a key role, whether it be playing a lead role in the film or helping with communication.

This blog will be used to keep you informed of progress and developments within the project, but it's also for you - to ask questions about the project, to become involved and to reflect back to Anton and his team your comments and ideas. Please feel free to take part and let us hear from you!
